Woke up early, around 4.55 am. Saw about 20 minutes of ‘Suryala Paaheelela Manus’ – a play (on DVD) about Socrates starring Sreeram Lagoo. Then went for a walk. I climbed the hill and went down to Film City Road.  On the way I saw a burnt down dhaba set (I discovered later from the Balaji Telefilms spot boy). Further ahead was Whistling Woods International, which according to the Balaji Telefilms spot boy was Subhash Ghai’s Acting training school with fees of Rs. 11 lacs per annum. The spot boy also told me that Film city was spread over 2000 acres and one could take permission, create sets and shoot anywhere.

On reaching home at 7.50 am, Rajeev called to say that he had got the Godrej Lock from the Hebbars. The slotted angle rack nuts were tightened and it became more stable. On the way to office, just before buying fresh nut bolts for the slotted angle rack, scooter rear tyre got punctured. Got it repaired in the shop across the road – Rs. 20/-. He suggested I should check with Bangar shop for slotted angle racks. On reaching office, had a kanda pohe in Nirlon canteen. Rajeev collected the truck receipt and assured to send lock and receipt through James who was to come to Goregaon.

Had lunch in the Nirlon canteen – Rice, dhal, sabji and Buttermilk – Rs. 16/-. After lunch, bought a Rs. 180/- ticket for “Life in a Metro’ at Movietime, Screen no. 7 at 1930 hrs. Met James at 17.00 and took the Godrej lock and truck receipt. Had Upma with him in Nirlon canteen. Saw the movie at 1930 – not really enjoyed it. Reached home at 2200. Washed clothes, had food – little zinga masala, curds and 3 slices of brown bread. Fetched 2 litres Bisleri from shop near Busstand. Went for a walk and then went to bed around 2300 hrs.

(Have not had tea, coffee since 12-05-2007 (Gautam’s birthday)

Shifting:

Be careful about packing liquids while shifting traveling: I had packed Amul Chaas ½ litre tetrapacks – one opened but closed shut and another sealed in an airbag alongwith other papers and bags. During transportation, one gave off and spilt itself into the airbag. The computer testing book in this as well as other papers were soaked.

Be careful about TV (and other electronic/electrical items). My TV and Microwave were safe. The gas cylinder is hissing when the regulator is turned on. The knobs of the gas stove are out.

Make duplicate keys of the new house and deposit in safe place for easy access in case of need.

In a new house, one requires door eye, arrangements for drying clothes, rods for window curtains, mirrors, gas supply, newspaper supply, telephone connection, duplicate keys, cable tv

Find out about newspaperman, milk supply, laundry facilities, gas agency, vehicle repairs, keymaker, cable tv , telephone office,
